Europameisterschaft (7.-20. November)
European Chess Union and Montenegro Chess Federation have the honor to invite all National Chess Federations, members of the ECU, end eligible players to participate in the European Individual Chess Championship 2024. The event will be held from 7-20 November in Petrovac, Montenegro.
European Individual Chess Championship 2024 is open for all players from National Chess Federations members of the European Chess Union (ECU) without rating or title limitations. There is no limit of number of participants per federation, but applications can only be sent by national chess federations. The registration deadline is 16th of September 2024.
The championship will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
The European Individual Chess Championship 2024 is a qualifying event for the FIDE World Cup 2025. According to the FIDE regulations for World Cup and the ECU Board decision, 20 players* will qualify. (*Under the current FIDE World Cup regulations, FIDE is the only body responsible for the qualification spots)
The total prize fund of the event is 100.000 euros, with 20.000 EUR reserved for the winner of the Championship. Along with the prizes for the 23-best-ranked players, the organisers provided special prizes for six best-ranked female players, three best-ranked junior U18 players, and three best-ranked senior 50+ players. The prize list is shown below.
The Championship will be played in the official hotel of the event ****Hotel Palas.
The organisers will arrange transfers between the airports (Podgorica or Tivat) and the Official hotel of the event. Transfer is free for all players and accredited accompanying persons on the first day (7th November) and the last day (20th November).
