Carlsen, Nepo und der deutsche A-Kader
Die FIDE hat jetzt eine vorläufige Teilnehmerliste der Blitz- und Rapid-WM ab dem 25. Dezember in Warschau veröffentlicht. Teil des Feldes: Matthias Blübaum, Alexander Donchenko, Rasmus Svane, Daniel Fridman und Elisabeth Pähtz. Beim offenen Blitzturnier wird sich noch der Münchner Blitz-Spezialist Maximilian Berchtenbreiter dazugesellen. Die Anmeldung ist bis zum 20. Dezember offen.

Almost 200 participants have already registered for the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships that will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from December 25-31 at PGE Narodowy, the most modern and largest of its kind football arena in Poland. The list of participants of the event is headed by 5-time world champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway), followed by the 2021 challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi, champion of the 2021 Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz Hikaru Nakamura (USA), 2021 World Cup winner Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Vladislav Artemiev (CFR), Boris Gelfand (Israel), and others. In Women’s tournaments the highest-rated players are Aleksandra Goryachkina, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Valentina Gunina (all CFR), Anna Muzychuk, Mariya Muzychuk (both from Ukraine), Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia), Humpy Koneru and Harika Dronavalli (both from India), Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria), and many others.
